Here is a photo of my powercart taken last July when it was brand new. It still looks the same. It just has some mud and perhaps a few road apples on it from flinging manure. Click on the photo to enlarge it. You can see all of its features.
A very good friend in Pennsylvania is responsible for most of the design and build. He has one that we used for a prototype. This one has a few improvements such as; rear wheel hydraulic steering.
This machine is in essence, a tractor pulled by horses. It enables me to use any piece of equipment on my farm with my draft horses. They supply the traction power. The cart provides the rest.
The 3-point hitch, the remote hydraulics and the rear wheel steering are all-electric, powered by a deep cell battery. The motor only has to run to turn the power take off shaft. When the motor does run, it charges the battery. This machine is well-built and nothing short of ingenious 😮
We got a splash of rain last night that has everything looking greener. The field corn looks like it jumped and the sweet corn is making ears. The rest of the garden looks much better too. It is amazing just how much the rain helps the garden.
Today we will continue spreading manure with the horses and powercart. The manure spreader works well behind it. I am still working to cover the new seeding field where we harvested the speltz. Then it will be on to a field that will be planted to speltz this fall. It’s always good to have a plan 😮
I head out today to a green world that was refreshed by the rain. I am armed with a plan and surrounded by draft horses and my farm. The ones I love are all watching out for me, while some are watching over me. I don’t think it gets much better than that.
