We had a crazy busy time at the Ohio regional Suffolk Gathering. This is an outreach for us to share our rare breed Suffolk horses with the public. The non-profit Saving Suffolks partnered with the Lake County Metropark FarmPark to host this get together.

We had a great time. We competed in arena events and shared laughs and good times. Horses were driven in teams and singles as we put them through their paces. We had 20 horses in attendance from six states. Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kentucky, Missouri, and Texas were all done proud by the teams and teamsters.

We toured the park by convoy with seven or eight teams. The people loved it as we drove by them. Many were interested in the breed and asked lots of questions. The event was successful. Many laughs and ideas were shared as we came together to meet, greet and compete.
In the last two days, our 2024 foaling season came to an end. The last two babies were born. We are doing our best to present, promote and preserve this breed. We are very pleased with out babies and the addition they bring to the gene pool.

Meet Antonio “Tony” born June 19 2024 He is a nice little boy. His mom Anna looks on, pleased with her baby too.

Our little girl Gabriel “Gabby” is a sweetheart. She and her mom “Abby” are doing well
Breeding for the 2025 season is in full swing Our stallion Hank, has five mares in foal and a few more ladies in waiting. It is a busy wonderful time.
We are currently in a heatwave with temps at 90 and above. That is hot for us northerners! The horses are stalled in the cool barns with fans running to keep the air moving. Its still hot , but it is bearable.
Much of the farm and garden work is being done in the morning or later after supper. Progress is being made and all of us are doing well in spite of the hot weather. We even manage to have a little fun too!
