As we are just a week away from Thanksgiving. My thoughts run to things for which I am thankful. There is no way to list them all. I will just say that my cup truly does “runneth over”. I am a blessed man.
We butchered this hog of our son for him and his family. We had to wait for cool weather. I never expected to have to wait until this late in November! He was a very nice hog that provided a lot of tasty meat.

The pork chops and roasts were real nice. Some of the sausage got made into links. The hams and bacons are wonderful. We processed this on a plastic folding table in the side yard by the house. Many of the kids had a hand in helping. So very nice for another generation to know exactly where food comes from and just how good it tastes!
It has been a busy week with horses getting shoes reset and feet trimmed. I gave haircuts and continue training the young horses. We even managed to get the woodshed full for next seasons maple syrup boiling.

Two of our grandkids helped me and boy was it nice to have the help. We stayed at it off and on for the last month, but just yesterday managed to see the end!
These are just a few reasons that I am thankful. I think we should all pause a bit and reflect on all the good in our lives. Give thanks for what we have been given…and be hopeful that somewhere people are thankful because we are part of their lives!
