As I sit in the cold and ponder projects for 2025, this power cart is going to get a makeover. It has served me quite well for the last almost 15 years, but I want to change a few things.

The number one thing is the hydraulics. I want to change from electric to direct drive by a gear pump. The electric works well, but over use runs the battery dead…so dead you can’t start the engine.

A new motor is also on the wish list. Easier to get parts, hopefully quieter and not so temperamental! Lastly, get it closer to the ground and make up a new springless seat. That one has launched me a time or two!

The cold is here and with it some snow. It is as close to an old-fashioned winter as we have had in years. I like winter so I am a happy guy!

I will say it is hard to believe that January is almost half over. It seems like we just waiting for Santa a day or so ago. Maple syrup season looms and we are thinking about getting into gear for that job.

It won’t be long until the horses start bringing in the sweet reward… Until then, I think I will stay warm, design a few changes and dream about the warm days that will be here soon.
