February 26, 2025
Wow, being sick for three weeks sure made the short month of February fly by! I started to be more like myself this past Monday and continue to improve as the week goes. I managed to secure and bring home what I hope will be the last load of purchased hay for this winter. I like to have this job done before winter, but colder temps and a few more mouths to feed had me looking short. I would much rather look for any extra hay in February than in late April. Much easier to find and better quality to boot.

I also was able to pick up our new EZ Trail forecart. This cart I use for many things. It replaces an older one that we sold. It has two seats for training. Sometimes I am training a new teamster so the seat becomes a seat of learning. Often times I am training a young horse. The the extra seat becomes a seat for extra safety as my passenger can be there to help if needed.
EZ Trail makes a quality product and many of them. Their horse drawn inventory is vast. They are a local company headquartered just outside of Mount Hope, Ohio. They have a very helpful and knowledgeable staff. We have done a lot of business with them over the years and I recommend them highly.
Our Non-Profit “Saving Suffolks” will be raffling off a cart like this in 2025. All proceeds go to help “Present, Promote and Preserve”, the rare breed Suffolk draft horse. We have used the monies to host several Suffolk gatherings where Suffolk horses are showcased and friends come together. The public is always invited to come see, smell and touch these awesome horses.
Our next regional gathering will be held the last weekend in September at the Lake FarmPark in Kirtland Ohio. Come see us!
