October Rundown

After a busy September filled with construction projects, The Ohio Regional Gathering, a logging instructional day in southern Ohio, October flew in. We had a couple completed projects so far this month too, including the North American Suffolk Horse Association gathering in Wisconsin. All of my absence on this BLOG is attributed to my computer not talking to my “photos” and my Scotch-Irish temper causing me to shutdown. I’m better now :o)

The photo above was taken in late September. You can see the 3 sleeping foals if you look close. This is most of the herd. Hank is there with his mares and babies.

The south (front) side of the new barn, showing off its recently washed windows!

The old pig barn has become the new horse barn. It was a summer long project but I am pleased with the way it turned out. The oak stalls make a sturdy, comfortable, safe place for the horses, between turnouts.

Another fall project is to get the honey off the bee hives and the hives reduced down for winter.

Beautiful raw honey.

56 pints all done. Bees all content and ready for winter…love seeing this job complete and its yummy too!

We also stuffed the woodshed full at the sugarhouse. We are looking forward to the upcoming 2026 maple syrup season!

Teaser alert……………

Meet Murtagh, Jaimee’s 1/2 brother. It is my hope that they become the farm’s main power source very soon! More on this in the next few days.

Talk to you all soon!
