Well, my birthday came again for another year. I celebrated it plowing snow with Amee and Abby. We had fun, if work can be fun. Here we are plowing a large circle out back to hopefully freeze a road in. I’d like to have a place to work youngsters where we are out of the mud. Now, it’s up to Mother Nature to keep it frozen.
I’m not sure that freeze job will work. Warm temperatures are headed for us again this week. At least we got out there and tried. The powercart handled the back blade very well. I control up and down with just a touch of a lever. You can see from the photo, that Abby was not impressed.
This past weekend we gave carriage rides in a local historical district. The high temperature was 16 degrees F.

Our son Jake went with me and boy was I ever glad to have him there! We took turns driving so we could stay a little bit warm. The horses did good on the brick streets and around the smiling public.

If you look close you can see the American flag in the background. Yes, that is a stiff wind blowing in off of Lake Erie. Ashtabula harbor’s lift bridge structure and the old coal shuttle can be seen in the background too.
We made several trips up and down Bridge Street hauling people for a cute Christmas ride. We gave carriage rides for four hours, made lots of smiles and enjoyed chestnuts roasting over an open fire and fresh squeezed ice wine juice. It was fun. Hats of to Riverbend Hotel for inviting us and for their hospitality.
