With a winter storm barreling down on us, the rain was cold and steady. It made for a good day to be inside of the barn. Maggee, in the picture, needed to have her harness fitted to her. She is becoming one of the “big girls” now. Her training is well started. Now, she graduates to a 3-horse hitch. She will be put to the powercart and manure spreader very soon.
Hank got a new collar. He is a big boy with a large neck. A stallion has this attribute. I must be ever mindful to make sure his collar fits well. We don’t want a sore neck or shoulders.

He is a great minded dude! As usual he took all my monkey business in stride. The rain poured down outside while I fiddled and fussed with his harness, making small adjustments. He too will share in the manure hauling. We all get to partake in the job that won’t stay done. It seems, no matter how well you clean the barn…there is always more :o)
Sam, our Border Collie also spent the day running in and out of the rain. He too seemed to like my inside job. I’d say he approved. He might have even been a little bored.

They are calling for up to a foot of snow by end of the day tomorrow, but first ice. So much for our January thaw.
Even Hank seems impressed. His soft eye and big heart, melts mine every time!
