Winter has us in her grip for sure! It is an old-fashioned one for sure. The temperatures have been below zero F at night and single digits during the day. It is warm when it hits 12!

Snow has been steady but thankfully not much ice. We have been working indoors this past week, but even the barn temperatures are cool. I seem to drink more tea this kind of weather, sitting inside enjoying the warmth.

The horses don’t mind a bit. I cycle them through play time in groups small groups. I want them to exercise but not get so rough they hurt each other. They all enjoy a good romp and roll in the deep snow.

Just like children, some enjoy it a lot! Here our youngster Wren is rough housing and playing. She has a ball every time I turn her out. Perhaps it is her youth. Maybe it is her diet for a growing youngster? All I know is that she sure makes me smile! Wahoo Winter!
