Lucy watching me

     Yesterday we snapped a few pictures of Lucy. The one above, she is watching me put the lawnmower away. It was the first time she got up all day.

 

     Today she is very tired choosing to lay quiet even when I speak to her. This morning at 6am she dragged herself out to watch me do chores. She waited for me to finish. I petted her for a long time, just sitting beside her telling her that she is a good girl.

 

     This evening she mostly lies on her side, eyes closed resting. She once again hauled herself out to watch me do chores. I talked to her while I did them. My voice cracked and I had trouble focusing through tear filled eyes, but we did get done.

 

     The balance of the day, I am going to just sit with my dear friend, touching her fluffy coat while she touches my heart. I will talk to her and try to comfort her while letting her know that it’s okay for her to go. She has made some great memories with me. I will hold them dear and talk to her with a glad heart.

 

     She has been my pal for a long time. I want her to know how much I appreciated her, how happy she made me and how pleased I am with her.

She knows I love her, I showed her every day. I will tell her that I will miss her. As we talk , I want her to know that I will be okay without her, for I know she is worried about me.  I want to comfort her and me. She shared her life with me and that has been a wonderful gift. … you rest now Lucy.
