Sitting out the rain

King 10 months and growing

                                                       May 1, 2012

It rained much of the night. It has slowed down my hope of field work, but the pastures and hay fields are glad to have the rain. I will be happy about it too. King and I were goofing off in the kitchen when Connie snapped this picture. He still likes to sit on my lap, but is growing out of it fast!

He continues to be a good dog. We spend lots of time with him and he listens well. He is sort of a boy in a man’s body, but maturing every day. He is just shy of 125 pounds and on the grow. He has become a real watch dog, letting us know if even the slightest thing is amiss.

My list of inside jobs will get worked on today. The drizzle continues this morning. The animals are all relaxed in their pastures, even the horses are lying down and resting. I have errands to run, so between them and the never-ending list, I will find plenty to do …  as we wait out the rain.

Thanks again ralph for continuing with the blogs. I appreciate your pace and again you help me with confidence about how things ebb and flow with farm life. Glad to hear you made it to dayton. I look forward to hearing about your plans with the strips etc. Have a great day
