Well, we did it! The first pasture move of the season has been completed. My sheep and lambs gave me the run around. They acted more like a mob that a flock. They were going everywhere and making lots of noise.
I tried twice to convince them to all follow me, but they simply would not cooperate. It was hot and all of us, were not going to run, no matter what.
In desperation, I tied the gates open and walked away. In about a half hour, the little darlings got curious and went right out the gate and into the fresh pasture. My wife closed the gate and all is well this morning.
From here on out, the rest of summer. The sheep will be moved often. A central lane was part of our farmstead plan… and I am very glad! It has saved me time and trouble over and over.
