King and Elsie

September 7, 2011

King is growing very quickly. We keep introducing him to all sorts of things. He takes this job serious and is catching on fast. He really likes the cows and wants them to play with him. They would like to roll him around the pasture, but the fence keeps the situation under control. One thing for sure, like most babies, he has no fear.

The weather here is wet, with rain showing up almost every day. I hope it’s just a short period so that the corn harvest is not too muddy. I will say that compared to those poor folks in Texas, I would rather have the drizzle.

The wet pastures are as green as spring. Soon the leaves will turn color and add to the beautiful scene. I like autumn. I like the colorful trees as well as the cooler temperatures. Cider season will soon be upon us and nothing says fall like a fresh, crisp glass of cider.

I am short on time today, so must hustle off to do other things. I urge you to take some time to look at the wonder in these last days of summer. There are plenty of things to see. King is finding cows, sheep and even spiders as he explores his world. See what wonder you can find in the simple things.. It does a body good!
