Yesterday our daughter came and helped my wife decorate the house for Christmas. There were many trips up and down the basement stairs, but by the end of the day, the job was complete. It is like an old-fashioned Christmas in here … just the way I like it 😮

It seemed very fitting to have decorated our house yesterday, because it was my mom’s birthday. My mother loved Christmas time. It was her favorite time of the year. All her baking, candy making and secret keeping made it my favorite time too. I do miss her, so very much.

Our weather has turned wet yet again. It has been raining for the last 24 hours and still no sign of stopping. Last week it rained for three days straight and was cloudy for two more. It is making any farm work come to a stand still again… I’m now just hoping for a freeze, without a bunch of snow on top of it. Hopefully, I can pick corn that way.

Well I got everything decorated except my tree! 😦 Sarah and Chris are gonna help me get the rest of my lights on this evening! Long Story!! I have fought and fought with it and I give up!! No more tears!! I miss mom the most this time of year and everything I do reminds me of her!! I put in my Reba CD and still just can’t get in to it yet! Got most of my cards done and ready to go, just a handful yet to go. Wrote til my hands were cramping last night and finished up what I could after I got done cleaning today. Time to call it a day. I have been going steady since my feet hit the floor at 5:30 this morning so am calling it a day!! Love ya!
