The Beast 5 Way Splitter

February 7, 2012

Why does it always happen that great deals come along just a smidgen too late? After we spent a grueling two months building the “Tough Guy” log splitter, a friend of mine says he has this one for sale.

It is a factory made, commercial splitter. It has awesome power. It is designed to split the chunk of wood into five pieces! It will split some monster pieces to boot… I know I tried it out 😮

The one we built will split wood that is six inches longer, but the comparison stops there. This thing has power beyond my description. It will push wood through the splitter part and then push the pile out-of-the-way too. The pile above took me fifteen minutes to split!

I can’t imagine the production rate when two guys work this thing together. I am sure you could easily split a cord about every half hour. That is, if, you could keep up with the machine… It is a workout let me tell you!

We plan to give this thing a real work day tomorrow. I am not sure we can keep up, but I’m going to give it one heck of a try. One thing for sure, we will make a dent in the sugarhouse wood pile. I expect I will sleep good tomorrow night too!

I guess instead of the sarcastic title to this post, I should be thankful and just say “That’s just great, thanks for letting me try it out”. I am not sure yet what I am going to do, but I am leaning towards that one that will …….. “Get er done!”
