I don’t know if it is my Scotts-Irish heritage or from living here on the north coast, but I love the spring green-up. I look forward to it every year. I have seen when it’s almost May before it looks lush and green, but this year it was here in March!
The sheep won’t hardly even eat hay. They are grazing like it’s mid-June. Lambs will be coming soon. I bet they will be healthy, hardy little fellows…. at least they have every opportunity to be that way!
I have been enjoying the green fields as I make my way across them hauling wood. I will be pretty glad when the woodshed is full. We made another great stride in that direction today. One piece at a time… I guess it is coming along well. The horses even got a little white sweat today as the temperature was almost 70 F. The mud is drying and the loaded sled pulled hard.
We also rolled up a long section of old barbed wire fencing. That job has been on my list for a couple of years. It was nice to scratch a line through that item 😮 The spring flowers are blooming in the woods. It made the wire rolling almost pleasant … Okay, I said .. almost.
I planted some onion sets, but that is the sum total of my gardening so far this spring. I have a few early potatoes ready to go in the ground. I just need a little energy left at the end of the day. Lately, it seems that I run out before the sun goes down. You “wood” not believe how tired I get 😮
