Piggy Sue and her babies too!

      This morning, as I was doing chores, I snapped this picture of the piggies all sleeping late. Mom is worn out and the babies are giving her some peace and quiet. There are nine babies under the straw.

      This liter was born four days ago. There is one weak baby, but he seems to be growing. We shall see if he makes it. Piggy Sue is a good momma.  He has every advantage, lots of milk and is the product of good breeding. I am thinking he will be fine.

      After a few night shifts and a couple of rainy days, farm work will continue again. The water is standing in several spots, but I have a few things to work on where that won’t matter.

      It would be easy to sleep late and waste the day. I am off to a good start, but will say, that if the rain drives me indoors … a nap might be in my future 😮

    Hi dad… heather here! Ive been reading along your blogs with Jake. This picture is my favorite. As for the memories it brings from the first time Jake brought me to the farm I held a baby piggy for the first time. Its kind of a funny storey. Jake gave me the baby piglet and took a picture with his phone and then I did the same with him. I was scared and he said its ok they r still young just watch if mama wakes up. LOL Then just this Saturday we stopped by and walked to the fed lot where sue just had new piglets… Jake looked at me and we smiled and took a picture just like that first visit. Till this day the piglets are my favorite at the farm ( traveling arc and all lol ).. thought id share our memories we made on the farm 😉 love you….

      I often don’t reply to my comments. I am not sure why I don’t, but tonight I am speechless. Thank you for sharing your memory with me. My roots in farming run deep. I am glad to have passed those genes along. Who would have thought, that holding a baby piglet would be the start of a love so deep? ….. Baby pigs are pretty cute, baby humans are cuter … hint hint :o) Love Dad
