Over the river and through the woods

It is all about adventure. We could just walk down the drive to the sugarhouse, but I built this little foot bridge and handrail for my grandchildren. It will some day be an awesome path through the woods. It is a very small patch of trees, but to a child it is a forest 😮
If you think about things in your life, the mundane can be magical with a little adventure. I mean, even a trip to the laundromat can be an interesting trek, if you make it that way. Spend time packing a small lunch. Cover the clothes baskets with a towel, so dirty clothes become hidden treasure. Make feeding coins into the machine like using a slot machine in Las Vegas. And… lets not forget about the money change machine!
Gardening can be a very labor intensive task. Finding the largest potato, reddest tomato or the most perfect pepper, can turn work into fun. See how fast a job can be completed correctly, with a popsicle for a prize. Give the dog a bath outside in a big tub, instead of the usual place…keep work fun….it’s good for you.
Walking out to our sugarhouse to clean something or to visit my mother’s resting place, will now have an element of wonder. The children will play on the bridge, look for bears and elephants in the woods and grow up thinking that their pa-pa was a pretty good guy.
I am fine with that 😮
